Hotel details
We do have a discounted hotel block for USA Jigsaw Nationals competitors. The hotel is attached to the convention center. After you register for the event, you will receive the hotel block information via email!
New for 2026
We've added a fourth preliminary round to the individual competition. There will be 4 x 200 participants, where 50 participants from each heat will move on to the final round.
The teams preliminary rounds will be shorter, at 2.25 hours to complete 1 x 500 piece puzzle and 1 x 1000 piece puzzle.
If you have friends or family that are just coming to watch you compete, we have a spectator button option that they can purchase, granting them access to the competition space only.
The puzzle convention is back! But with all those great perks and experiences, all participants will need to buy a Jigsaw Nationals Competition & Convention Entry Badge. Badges will be customized to each individual. Therefore they are not transferrable. Badges will display full names, and optionally, your state of residence and your social media handle.
Registration details
The link for Members to register early will be emailed the afternoon of Friday, October 31st. It will also be added to the Members-Only Webpage (login on top right and head to the Member Central tab).
Have this info ready to go for every person that you register:
Name
Email address
City/state of residence
Birthdate (for any Solo competition registrations)
USAJPA Member ID (for any Solo competition registrations) *
Entry Badge preferences (if you purchase them for your teammates)
Display state of residence on badge (full state name or leave blank)
Display social media handle (handle or leave blank)
Entry Badges are required for all competitors and convention-goers alike, so if you register your teammates, they must get an Entry Badge before they sell out
*To find your 8-digit Member ID number, head to the USAJPA Members-only Webpage, log in (top right), and under Profile on the dashboard, click the link that says USAJPA Membership #.
Payment is accepted in the form of credit card. Note that pricing for the Pairs and Teams Competition is for the entire competition (not per person). Only one person per pair or team needs to register. More questions about registering yourself and others? Head to our FAQ for ALL the details!
USA Jigsaw Nationals Convention Info
Jigsaw Nationals Competition & Convention entry badge ($125/person) - Required
All competitors MUST have an Attendee Badge to enter the venue.
This badge entitles you to all kinds of great perks in addition to the competition, such as convention events, seminars, puzzle exhibitors/vendors, casual competitions, puzzle artist signings, and lots of opportunities for casual puzzling and practice space!
Ravensburger will also once again be selling puzzles and merchandise.
Competition details
Registrants for the individual competition must be at least 16 years old. Participants younger than 16 can compete in Pairs and Teams if competing with someone (older than 16).
All competitors must be U.S. residents or citizens

Individual competition ($40/individual)
Previously unreleased 500 piece puzzles from Ravensburger for both the preliminary and final rounds.
Preliminary round will consist of 200 competitors each.
The final round will consist of the top 50 finishers from each of the 4 preliminary rounds.
Pairs competition ($60/pair) - SOLD OUT (waitlist link on registration site)
Previously unreleased 500 piece puzzles from Ravensburger for both the preliminary and final rounds.
Preliminary round will consist of 200 pairs each.
The final round will consist of the top 100 pairs from each of the 2 preliminary rounds.
Teams competition ($120/team) - SOLD OUT (waitlist link on registration site)
For preliminary rounds, each team will receive 1 x 500-piece puzzle and 1 x 1000-piece puzzles in consecutive order with previously unreleased Ravensburger images.
For the final round, each team will receive 2 x 1,000 piece previously unreleased puzzles in consecutive order. The preliminary rounds will consist of 100 teams each.
The final round will consist of the top 50 teams from each of the 2 preliminary rounds.
Spectator button ($10/person)
Friends and family that just want to come and watch you compete can now purchase a spectator button.
They will only have access to the competition space spectator area and no access to any of the convention amenities.
Buttons can be purchased with registration.
Note: There will be no check-in for each competition. You will be notified via email prior to the event which preliminary heat you are in and your assigned table. Please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to your event. When the doors open, you will be directed to your seat. If your table seat is empty at the beginning of announcements (5 minutes before start time), your seat will be forfeited to someone in the walk-up waitlist. If there is an unforeseen circumstance and you cannot make it in time, please email us at contact@usajigsaw.org.
Reserved Nationals competitor spots
If you meet any of the below criteria, you'll receive a separate communication explaining how to register.
If you won first place at a state or regional championship this year with Speedpuzzling.com, you are guaranteed a spot at Nationals.
If you won first place at an in-person sanctioned event this year, you are guaranteed a spot at Nationals.

If you are interested in volunteering, please be patient! We will open volunteer sign-ups right after competitor heats are assigned in early 2026. If you are competing, you will know your race schedule prior to signing up for shifts!
