Grey’s Puzzle Story:

Grey has been puzzling since she was little, but only discovered competitive puzzling in 2020. It didn’t take long for her to become an expert and become the USAJPA’s 2021 Individual National Champion! She’ll took her skills all the way from Shreveport, LA to Valladolid, Spain for the World Jigsaw Puzzle Championship!

Q&A Time:

What’s your favorite part of puzzling?

“The tactile nature of puzzles. So much of our world/entertainment is on the other side of a screen so I like having a break from that. I also like that there is only one solution to a puzzle. So many situations in life don't have one right answer. I think that's what makes puzzling such a stress relieving hobby for some.”

What’s your advice to get faster?

“Do more puzzles! Beyond that, I always start with low hanging fruit (i.e. whatever section seems easiest). Practice puzzling with your non-dominant hand only. Also, don't spend too much time solving a certain section or finding that one piece - just move on to something easier.”

What activities keep you busy?

“I just started the Red River Puzzle Club (@redriverpuzzleclub)! I'm trying to bring all the puzzlers out of the woodwork in my area. As part of that, I started a free puzzle library out of some storage bins on my front porch. I got the idea from @puzzlepromqueen! As it gains some momentum, I would like to start having monthly puzzle swaps and eventually get some puzzle competitions going as a fundraiser for my friend's pet rescue.”
